Meet our Team

Steve Rooney brings more than 20 years of banking experience, in addition to a decade in payroll sales, to American Momentum Bank. Most recently, Mr. Rooney served as senior business development banker at Capital One, where he specialized in HOA lending, commercial lending, escrow services, treasury services and cash management. Earlier in his career, he held positions with Bank of America and Chase, earning multiple accolades for sales and business development performance.

Mr. Rooney has a passion for helping clients achieve their financial goals. He has extensive experience with a wide range of products, including lending solutions such as SBA and CIRA, as well as property management and accounting platforms like Vantaca and CINC. He is committed to the mantra of ‘do the right thing’ for all his clients.

Mr. Rooney grew up on the Southside of Chicago and now resides in the western suburbs. In his spare time, he can be found watching football with his two sons, Jacob and Logan, or visiting his daughter who is a freshman at the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University.

He is also an avid concert attendee, having seen all the top acts that have come through Chicago.
