12/22/2025
American Momentum Bank has entered the South Florida market with its latest hire, Michael Burke as vice president, SBA business development officer. In this role, Burke will focus on helping small business owners across Florida and beyond access financing through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 7(a) and 504 loan programs, as well as other commercial lending solutions.
The hire comes as the community bank continues the national expansion of its Tampa, Fla.-based SBA Lending Division. Texas-chartered American Momentum Bank – which is a designated “SBA Preferred Lender,” according to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) – announced the national expansion of its SBA Lending Division in May 2022. The division serves businesses nationwide.
Burke is a seasoned SBA lending professional with more than a decade of experience in SBA 7(a), 504 and commercial real estate financing. Based in Fort Lauderdale, he brings a deep understanding of credit analysis, deal structuring and client relationship management to the bank’s SBA Lending Division.
Prior to joining American Momentum Bank, Burke served as senior vice president, SBA relationship manager at Locality Bank and vice president, SBA/commercial lender at Paradise Bank. Over his career, he has originated and closed more than $100 million in SBA and commercial loans, helping small businesses across Florida secure financing for real estate acquisitions, business expansions, partner buyouts and working capital needs.
“Michael’s extensive SBA lending experience and strong network in South Florida make him an exceptional addition to our team,” said Patrick Fenech, senior vice president/managing director of SBA lending at American Momentum Bank. “He brings a client-centered approach and deep product expertise that align with our mission to deliver tailored lending solutions that help businesses grow. We are fortunate to have him.”
Known for his hands-on approach and responsiveness, Burke guides clients through every stage of the loan process—from initial consultation and eligibility assessment to underwriting and closing—ensuring a seamless and personalized experience. His expertise spans complex credit evaluations, collateral analysis and navigating SBA program nuances to structure sound, bankable solutions.
Burke holds a bachelor’s degree from Broward College. He currently serves on the board of the Potential Christian Academy Business Network and is an active member of the Florida Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (FLAGGL). He also participates in several professional and civic organizations across South Florida, supporting local entrepreneurs and small business development initiatives.
“I was drawn to American Momentum Bank’s strong balance sheet, experienced leadership and commitment to relationship-driven lending,” Burke said. “My goal is to expand our SBA lending presence throughout Florida by helping small business owners secure capital for growth, acquisitions and real estate ownership.”
