Sawgrass Pet Resort to open in Ponte Vedra with financing from American Momentum Bank

Million-dollar loan will allow pet daycare and boarding facility to open first location
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Aug. 27, 2019) — Sawgrass Pet Resort, a full-service doggy daycare, boarding, and training facility, has broken ground at 8050 Sawgrass Village Circle in Ponte Vedra. The full-service facility will be the first of its kind in Ponte Vedra and is expected to open later this year.
American Momentum Bank’s Small Business Administration (SBA) Division is financing the project with a $1.13-million-dollar small business loan. The loan will allow owners Kate and Scott Wagner to build a new 4,900-square foot building on leased land and provide working capital to get the operation up and running.
“We are so excited about this project and eager to provide this much-needed service to the Ponte Vedra Beach area,” said Kate Wagner, owner of Sawgrass Pet Resort. “After a long day of playing and socializing, dogs will be relaxed and ready to come home, or continue to enjoy their stay in one of our luxury kennels.”
The state-of-the-art pet resort will include 4,900 square feet of air-conditioned indoor space and 2,000 square feet of shaded outdoor space to create a fun, safe and protected atmosphere for pets to spend the day and/or night. Services will include daycare, overnight boarding, animal behavior courses, and grooming. Pet owners can also check in on their dogs via Sawgrass Pet Resort’s WebCam.
“Procuring an SBA loan isn’t easy and we were unaware of all that it encompassed when first looking at SBA funding,” said Kate Wagner, owner of Sawgrass Pet Resort. “We talked to multiple lenders that were interested in funding the project, but ultimately chose American Momentum Bank because of their team. They offered a tremendous amount of guidance throughout the process and made it as smooth as possible.”
The Wagners worked with Marge Cirillo at the Small Business Development Center, who ultimately connected them with American Momentum Bank. Jeannine M. Balanky, Vice President, SBA Business Development Officer for American Momentum Bank, and her team helped the Wagners navigate the SBA loan process.

Sawgrass Pet Resort broke ground on August 19. It is expected to open later this year.
