Ruben Cardona joins American Momentum as Vice President, SBA Business Development Officer III

AUSTIN, Texas (June 3, 2021) — American Momentum Bank recently hired Ruben Cardona to serve as Vice President, SBA Business Development Officer III. In his new role, Cardona will be based in Austin and will help grow the bank’s Small Business Administration (SBA) 7(a) loan program throughout the state of Texas.

Cardona brings over 18 years of banking experience to his new position. Prior to joining American Momentum, he served as vice president, SBA commercial loan officer at Midwest Regional Bank in Austin. Before that, he served as an SBA loan officer at First National Bank of Bastrop. He also held various positions at Wells Fargo for 12 years.

Cardona attended Texas State University, where he studied accounting and finance. He has completed the Advanced SOP 50 10 Training course conducted by the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL), as well as Coleman’s Certified SBA 7(a) Loan Underwriter Training.

In his community, Cardona served two years as president of the Bastrop Kiwanis Club, from 2015 to 2017, as well as commissioner for both the City of Manor’s Planning and Zoning Committee and City Charter Review Committee.
