Holistic dental practice to quintuple office space with new St. Petersburg location

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Oct. 5, 2022) — Natural Smiles of Tampa Bay, a holistic dental practice currently operating in 860 square feet in Pinellas Park, will soon relocate to a 4,440-square-foot office in St. Petersburg’s Mirror Lake neighborhood, in preparation to expand its staff and service offerings.
Build-out of the first-floor unit at 132 Mirror Lake Dr. N is currently underway, thanks in part to a $2.47 million construction loan from American Momentum Bank.
Owned by Carlo Litano, D.M.D., Natural Smiles of Tampa Bay specializes in holistic dental services – also known as biological dentistry. He is one of only around a dozen dentists in the state of Florida who provides holistic dentistry, which takes a whole-body approach to healing patients. A large percentage of Dr. Litano’s patients fly in from out of state to receive this specialized type of dental care.
“We’ve outgrown our current space, and we are taking inspiration from one of our mentors in Switzerland to expand in order to bring a more synergistic delivery of medical and dental care,” Dr. Litano said. “With this new, much larger location, we’ll be able to bring on a physician as a Medical Director and additional associates to serve more patients. In addition to holistic dentistry, we’ll also be able to offer some med-spa type amenities, such as in-office IV therapy.”
The Grannan Group represented Dr. Litano in the lease transaction. Gerdes Construction is managing the build-out of the space in the approximately two-year-old building. The new office will feature full surgical suites with a view of Mirror Lake, a full lab and state-of-the-art technology, like 3D X-rays and 3D printers.
“I think St. Pete is ready for a unique dental experience that’s a more direct holistic approach to mind, body and teeth,” Dr. Litano said. “This gives us the opportunity to serve a greater number of patients and give more people access to care.”
When considering how to finance the expansion, Dr. Litano thought of American Momentum Bank because he’d worked with the community bank on his residential mortgage.
“When it came time to shop for financial services for this new office location, it made a lot of sense to work with American Momentum, given what a great job they did assisting me with the purchase of my home,” Dr. Litano said. “Everyone along the way has been super helpful. They’ve walked me through the process, explained things and were able to provide attractive products.”
Diane McKelvey, vice president, relationship manager at American Momentum, has especially gone above and beyond, according to Dr. Litano.

Dr. Litano has been practicing dentistry for 16 years. His father, Mario Litano, M.D., will join the practice as Medical Director when the St. Petersburg location opens.
Dr. Litano expects the St. Petersburg location to open by spring 2023.
