American Momentum Bank grows commercial lending division with new hire
TAMPA, Fla. (April 13, 2023)— American Momentum Bank has hired Brad Abbey to serve as Senior Vice President, Senior Commercial Relationship Manager. Abbey will serve clients in the Tampa Bay area and will focus on forming new commercial banking relationships with medium to large businesses and commercial real estate investors.
“Brad is a lifelong Florida resident and has been active in the Tampa Bay commercial lending market for many years,” said Porter Smith, Tampa Bay Market President, American Momentum Bank. “His expertise in commercial real estate lending will round out the skillset of our local team and help us better serve our clients in the real estate industry.”
Prior to joining American Momentum Bank, Abbey served as Vice President, Senior Commercial Loan Officer for Lake Michigan Credit Union. There, he managed a commercial loan and deposit portfolio with a concentration on commercial and industrial loans, commercial real estate mortgages and SBA loans.

“I’m looking forward to working with a bank that can support larger commercial real estate borrowers and projects,” said Abbey. “American Momentum Bank values its local business relationships and has the financial sophistication to partner with the area’s largest real estate investors and developers. This move feels like a natural progression in my career and is also a testament to the growth in Tampa and Florida as a whole.”
